Getting Your Item To Us

Safe, secure, and simple steps to get your ceramics repaired.

We understand that your items are precious, often holding great sentimental value. To ensure they arrive at our Altrincham workshop safely, please follow the guide below. While we are experts in repair, proper packaging is the first line of defence against further damage.

The 3-Step Process

1. Get a Quote First

Please use our contact form, phone or WhatsApp to contact us, send pictures and get a repair quote.

2. Pack for Saftey

Ceramics are incredibly fragile in transit. We strictly recommend the “Double Box Method” (see below) to prevent shock damage. Most breakage occurs due to poor packaging - please take your time..

3. Send or Drop Off

Once booked, you can post the item to our workshop address below. If you are local to greater Manchester or don’t mind the drive we recommend arranging an appointment to drop the item off personally.

The Double Box Method and Packaging Tips

How to Pack Fragile Ceramics

Standard courier insurance often excludes glass and ceramics. To protect your item, you must pack it correctly:

  • Box in a Box – Wrap your item in bubble wrap and place it in a box. Then place that box inside a larger box with enough room for packing chips and material in the gap around.
  • No Movement – When you shake the outer box, you should feel no movement inside.
  • Wrap Vulnerable Parts – Handles, fingers, spouts and anything that sticks out should be given additional packing.

Liability & Shipping Policy

Please read carefully regarding the transport of your items.

Incoming Items (Sending to us)

The Ceramic Repair Shop does not accept responsibility for any loss or damage that occurs while the item is in transit to our workshop. It is the customers sole responsibility to ensure the item is securely packed and adequately insured by their chosen insurer if any.

Outgoing Items (Returning to you)

Unless specifically requested otherwise, we return terms via Royal Mail / Parcelforce.

  • Insurance: It is the customers responsibility to request specific courier insurance or enhanced cover for the return journey. If no specific request is made, items are sent via standard signed for delivery.
  • liability: We are not liable for damage caused by the postal service or courier during the return delivery. By booking a repair with us, you acknowledge that postage is undertaken at your own risk.
